VARGATES PediatricAssistant: a final exam and in-depth Russian-language pediatric cardiology theory
The pediatrics simulator gained a timed final exam for each programme, in-depth Russian-language theory in seven cardiology modules, and a rule on sources for medical data.
VARGATES PediatricAssistant is a pediatrics simulator in the VARGATES line. Between 18 and 23 September 2026 it shipped three changes.
A final exam for the programme
Once every module of a programme is complete, a final exam opens. It draws 25 random questions from the tests of all courses in the programme, with a fresh set on every attempt.
- The timer is always on: ninety seconds per question.
- Correct answers appear only in the final review, not during the exam.
- The result is a pass or fail verdict with a 70% threshold.
- Remaining time is counted from the real start time, so a minimised window no longer pauses the clock.
In-depth Russian-language theory in seven cardiology modules
The Russian-language theory of seven pediatric cardiology modules has been rewritten in depth: each module's theory is now several times larger and has more sections.
A rule on sources for medical data
Prescriptions with specific doses have been removed from the theory, clinical cases and tests of the cardiology course: treatment regimens differ between countries and change with each edition of the guidelines, and the simulator teaches clinical reasoning rather than acting as a prescribing reference. Where the dose is the skill being tested — emergency care and step-by-step procedures — it stays, and under the new rule every such entry must cite its source; the theory now has a source field for this. The reference point is the clinical protocols of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
