The Challenge
Industrial enterprises with thousands of field workers could not train safely on live equipment. Hazardous maintenance procedures, heavy machinery, and geographically dispersed operations made traditional classroom and on-the-job training expensive and dangerous. The brief: build a training system where workers could practice complex maintenance procedures and emergency scenarios on photorealistic digital twins — before ever touching a piece of live equipment. The platform had to work on PC, VR headsets, and industrial touchscreen panels across facilities with varying connectivity.
Our Approach
We built ROQED Mechanicum as a full-stack VR training platform through several years of R&D in DreamLight's laboratory. The core is a high-fidelity 3D modeling pipeline capable of producing digital twins of industrial equipment to maintenance-level accuracy — every valve, connector, and control panel rendered with enough detail to train real technicians. A scenario authoring system on top of that lets training departments compose multi-step procedures and safety drills without 3D expertise. The platform supports ERP and LMS integration, so training completion and competency data flows directly into existing enterprise systems.
Deliverables
- Photorealistic digital twin models of industrial equipment for procedural training
- Scenario authoring system for multi-step maintenance and safety procedures
- Cross-platform delivery: PC, mobile, VR headsets, industrial touchscreen panels
- ERP and LMS integration with competency tracking and analytics
Outcomes
ROQED Mechanicum grew from an internal R&D project into a standalone enterprise SaaS product. Active clients include Eurasian Resources Group, KATCO, and Hitachi — with measured outcomes: technician efficiency up 20%, equipment downtime reduced 40%, safety compliance at 90% in trained cohorts. Course development is 56% faster than competing platforms. Knowledge transfer improved by 31%. The product now operates independently as ROQED, serving industrial clients across Central Asia, with Airbus and Siemens among its international client base.
